چکیده
The astounding growth in cell phone and personal digital assistants (PDAs) has resulted in a new platform for computing engineering. Accordingly, a number of situations concerning business and dealer operations can be well managed with the use of such mobile devices or a combination of them. On the other hand, some software architectures like the Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) represent an excellent option while developing applications with these devices because of their wide availability and high portability. This work presents a dealer sales application that was built employing mobile devices of the Palm family and which relied on the extended coverage of the cellular phone system in Chile to connect to internet. The result was a low cost client server system that can constitute an effective and affordable alternative for salesmen who require to handle updated data during a business journey.
